Fleas in my yard an on my dogs an house help.

I also get a little worried about what I put on my grass and don’t like to put any powder directly on my dog. Not that I think it’s wrong but simply because my dog has dermatitis and severe skin allergies to the craziest of things. Even when it’s animal safe and non-toxic. Not the flea buster for my carpet thankfully because that’s the only thing I found that got rid of them for good If something flares up her skin allergy I have an expensive vet bill ahead and even worse a miserable pup.

The insect growth inhibitor, and I don't remember it's name, is off the market. It wasn't harmless either!

How was it not harmless? It was my understanding it was specific to fleas. Did it impact something else?

I just now googled insect (flea) growth inhibitors. There are currently several on the market. I couldn't find any mention of harmful effects from their use, but maybe I missed it. Some of the sites were simply informative and not selling anything so they wouldn't be biased. All the sites said the inhibitors should be used as a part of a control program, not the sole means of control. What harmful effects were you referring to?

I'm just not a fan of killing every insect in a large space outside, rather than target applications of products where they are most needed, and with little or no damage to non-target species. IGRs work against insects of all sorts, not only fleas.
