That's great stuff for wealthy people, lol. If permethrin doesn't work, try spinosad.

The price tag is indeed painful but it lasts a long time since it is so concentrated. It makes life so much easier when dealing with or preventing external parasites. I split my first bottle with a friend.

HOw do you use it’? Can you spray it on the birds?

Yes, 1.68 mL for a 24 oz spray bottle. Saturate their vent. Can be reapplied in 14 days. Can be used on the premises. I try to use once a month preventatively. As noted, I hate mites. We have lots of wild birds and since switching to this regimen, my girls have stayed external parasite free.

The dose varies... Most vet books say it's 0.2 mg/kg, but some pigeon fomularies say you can go as high as 1 mg/kg.

I gave some orally. It didn’t kill the mites.

Along with all the other things I assume you are doing, I would highly recommend your chicken a bath! You can purchase special chicken shampoos and conditioners at many stores. Use a towel or hair dryer on the cool setting on low power to dry them!
