Flex Seal waterproofing exterior nest box?

I’ve had a similar issue.
Yes I have an overhang but not a ton due to worries that hurricane winds will treat it as a sail.

We hacked a piece of flexible rubber that is meant for under a garage door.
It filled the gap quite well and is barely noticeable.
