Flies.. Flies and more Flies (Help)

We use the fly trap bags...they work amazing. We don't see a ton of flies around our coop anymore.

I use fly predators. I put the cocoons in a hanging plant pot so the ducks do not eat them. I hang vanilla deoderizer just outside the night pen door. I hang the bag of liquid fly traps in the yard. There are a few flies especially in hot wet weather, but not much. I also pull out bedding when it seems too damp, or at least cover it in another two inches of chopped straw.

Need a little pest control help. My duck house seems to be a fly house as well. I went and got pea gravel like I have seen posted and it has not helped at much, bought fly traps to put outside of the duck house higher up and even made a small garden next to the duck house with plants like rosemary and mint which is said to repel flies. Still the house seems to have ton of flies by mid day when the ducks are not in their home. Any advice on what I can do to help eliminate the fly problem that is also duck safe?
Hang some sticky yellow, an type fly pads.

So far i have a fly trap hanging outside and I sprayed the gordons inside the duck house. Flies seem to go for the trap and leave the duck house alone.

I use sticky traps. REALLY cuts down on flies in summer. I hang them just a few inches off the floor of my duck house during the day, as the flies like to hang out on the poop on the ground. Put one of those things up and its full by the end of the day. Only problem is at night, you must move them high enough so the ducks dont get stuck (yeah, its happpened once :p)
And yes, I do more than one trap at once. The more flies you kill at the same time, the lesss can breed the next generation. So better to get them all at once ;)
And the smell bag traps at walmart in spring when they are on sale work well too. Those two combined are my go-tos.
We do fly predators too, Im not sure if they are worth it though. Some people love them
And I do have the vanilla car scent hanging up, that I believe is more for MY nose than anything else :lau
Otherwise, removing wet bedding, large amouts of poop, wet feed on the ground, etc, ounce of prevention ;) Good luck in your fight against the flies! (one plus of winter, freezes them all.....so I now am relaxing till next year:caf)

Thank you everyone for the help. So far I have a fly bag hanging, i put some plants that are supposed to repel flys outside of the duck house in their own little garden. I use the pea gravel as their house ground, so i try and spray that every couple of days to hopefully get the poop to settle down. With all those the flies are still around, I bought the gordon's premethrin and it seemed to work the first day I used it, but since I spray down the house it might take it away, not sure. Next is the fly tape I guess.

Well looks like I have to try some more stuff, including moving the duck house most likely. The flies are bothering the neighbors that i talk to and get along with. Going to have to take apart and move the other side of the yard most likely, so will have to figure out what to do to stop before they start.
1) I will probably continue with the fly traps in the bag that i buy from home depot.
2) Buy the fly sticky tape
3) Stop with food and water in the house at night.

My biggest question is what should i use for the ground of the house?

Can you sit it up off the ground on concrete blocks? Not high enough they can get under to makes nests but to keep the house from sitting right on the ground and keeping rot at bay.

I use fly traps and keep everything hosed down in warm months. My Muscovy's are great fly catchers too.

Unfortunately I cant lift it up, I have a disabled Pekin Duck. When I got her at 6 weeks, she was niacin deficient, which new to ducks did not know about. Once I seen signs of problems I started them on niacin, but one ended up with a bad leg and walks with a big limp. No problem with the leg itself, other that it formed turned in so with it being on the ground it makes it easy for her to get in. If i put it up on concrete blocks she would never be able to climb in even with a ramp.

What flooring do you have now? How often do you clean it? I put pine shavings in my coop and it sits in a dirt floor. I clean maybe twice a week with two ducks, usually only once if I put a lot of bedding in.
