flip flop danger? story on msn

I saw it on the Today Show...I was a bit grossed out but just sprayed my flip flops with some Lysol. It still wasn't enough for me to not wear them anymore. I love to be barefoot or in flip flops.



My dh has always laughed at my buying flip flops or crocs and sandles....he says it is crazy to pall full price for half a shoe

LOL He won't wear anything but boots.

I can't wear them anymore, just kills the skin between my toes for some reason . . .but don't you think the bottom of our shoes of ANY type are full of disease? It's not like we LICK our shoe bottoms, although that might explain why our dogs are so happy to lick them!!!!

If we stopped to think about germs out in the world, we would never leave our homes. We were made to withstand kooties, we keep taking immunizations like we are and we won't be!!!

I live in sandals or flip flops until it starts to snow. Sometime I am still wearing them in October

I'm with WW, its not like I suck on the things, or set them on my table or keep them in the cupboard on top of the plates. They are footwear, and maybe kinda yucky, but they're comfortable. I live in Texas, and I wear open shoes 7-8 months a year. When it is time to put on real shoes, they feel strange. We also take our shoes off when we come into the house. Helps limit the kooties, and with two boys I need all the kootie limits I can get.

Haha, I too have the dorky flip flop tan lines on my feet. I live in mine as much and as long as I can....or til my toes start freezing when I go out lol. I have had blisters, cuts etc on my feet and never ended up sick or with weird sores due to germs. The sneaker companys must be hurting and paid to have flip flops & sandals discredited lol.

I hate flip flops. I only wear them swimming, or to QUICKLY run outside. DH got the front of his flip flops caught in some rocks once when he was about 12 and ripped his big toenail completely off.

I just think they are uncomfortable, and when I wear them somewhere I always think about how awfull it would be if I had to walk far somewhere in them.

Hmm, I live in flip flops all year except when it's really cold (I'm in Texas so thats maybe 3 or 4 mos) or working with the horses and then it's my boots. Wonder what they would find on the bottom of my Justin Ropers.

I have walked miles upon miles at a time in my flipflops... I guess I have some really good ones because they never hurt!
