Hi everyone!
I have 2 flocks, my famous wonderful 4 boys in one, and a backwards trio of 2 drakes and one hen. The Pekin drake Marco, is partially blind. The other drake, Polo, is a mallard. The hen, Ruby is kahki Campbell. They don’t over mate her, and she has a shelf that she hangs out in to get away from the blind but very amorous Pekin.
My question is, if I were to add another hen to this group, would that cause problems. They’re pretty harmonious right now, but I want to hatch an egg or 2 in the future.

That adding a new hen probably won't cause problems.
How big of a flock are you talking about? For a perfect flock,
In my opinion, is 6 hens and 1-2 Drake's. I honestly would get 3 more hens if you can because adding a hen is a 50/50 chance something good or bad will happen. If you have more then 2 hens they wont necessarily care or notice if another male is mating with another female that he supposedly likes lol.
I wish you the best for you and your flock and bless that blind Pekins heart :hugs

Any extra hens would help if you're hoping to get some eggs. When you first bring her (or them ;)) home just set them up in a see, no touch area and see how it goes. Sometimes they take right to each other, hopefully that would be the case!:fl
