Flock escaped into forest.

I made the mistake of letting my new Ancona hens free fraze before they were adjusted to the new coop. They immediately ran into the forest and they would not let me get within 50 feet! For the last 4 days and nights they were roosting high up the spruce trees. Until last night I awoke at 2am and couldn't get back to sleep, I went outside with a large spotlight and found them roosting. Then I turned off the bright light and used my red headlamp. They let me just pick them and toss back in the COOP!!!

I'm going to leave them in another 3 weeks before I try free grazing again

I heard Anconas can be flighty, all my other breeds came back in the night. Not these!
