So the birds I want to lay are quite stubborn, and I only have eight hatching eggs at the moment. Three are sultan eggs and five are mille fleur d'uccle eggs. My porcelains aren't laying at all, and the sultans apparently don't want to lay. I'm thinking of waiting until I have a dozen before incubating them, but we'll see. I'm also considering moving my cemani and giving him a hen since he's all by himself(wishing I had a cemani hen).

A trap is actually how I ended up with my cat, Winchester. Maybe I'll share the story sometime if you guys want to know.

What breed are the 5 month olds? Bantams?

The Bantams, OEGBs, porcelain d'uccles and a black tailed white Japanese bantam, are coming up on a year in spring. I'll finally have hens again!

The standard girls, possible mixes of Speckled Sussex, BBS Copper Marans, Ameraucanas, Olive Eggers, EEs, Leghorns, Red Sexlink and Salmon Faverolles, are exactly a week from turning 5 months old.


I saw my some of my standard girls brothers yesterday. The people who took them live right up the road and have a little cockerel flock going on. Their son absolutely loves chickens! I saw the leghorn looking one, the orange and gray boy and what I believe was one of the EEs. They definitely grew into gorgeous boys!

Didn’t have enough to finish it though.

I’ve ordered some stones, set to come on Monday to do that pathway up again.

Kayla you asked what song I have stuck in my head...that Thong song by Cisco- a 90's song...since everyone was talking about it ha...not sure if it is for kids so I won't link the youtube here but he talks so fast in the song anyway

When you said you had no plants to finish the rooster Kayla it reminded me of a drawing I made at least a decade ago of a cat.

I saw a small version of it in a library book I borrowed..I had to return the book and told myself I'd borrow it again and finish it..never happened
