Flock Update: well Honey and Lemon headed to their new home today! I snapped a couple pics before they headed out.



I'm happy to report that everyone is way happier now and i have nothing but happy chirping with silly chick antics! No more standoffs and squabbling yay! I know pecking order needs to be established but this wasn't that

BBQ is looking to be either leader or cockerel which I'm ok with. It's a more peaceful leadership lol!

Lol shows how much I know about duck lol or geese

Lol last summer my family and I went to Lake Tahoe. We were at Elmerald Bay and there were Canadian geese. My aunt kept calling them ducks so I told her they’re geese. She insisted they were ducks and kept calling them that, probably because the Chinese geese in Vietnam are larger in comparison. If my wifi was working I would’ve showed her it on google. Then again she isn’t really someone I’d be persistent with. I’m only here 2 weeks and seen her a couple times but she has no problem telling me that 1) it’s my fault the baby is clingy to me because I don’t let him cry and hold him when he wanted me to. I live in an apartment and someone already has knocked on the door because DH insisted I let him cry and we did that for 30 minutes. He just got louder. And 2) that I didn’t sweep good enough because my stepmom got him a baby food glass jar that he broke and I guess I missed a piece because he tries to play with the broom when I sweep so I had to be fast. I mean I appreciate that she found it but she just kept grilling me about it in front of others. Ugh. Anyways it was just a bad day other stuff happened throughout my day too but I won’t bore everyone with the details ha.

Not a chicken update, but I did let my house cat, Hemi, go out for a bit.

He has his very own harness and leash!

. He is a beautiful cat, love his markings, should be easy to identify if he ever got lost, plus him being a pterodactyl. Not sure if I wrote the right name for a cat with multiple digits on his paws or if I wrote the prehistoric creature instead.

People who say chickens are dumb.. obviously haven’t spent time with them..
When I let my gals out to free range I have to carry each one of them from the coop to the yard with the puppy fence... well, when one of them has to lay an egg they go to the fence toward the coop then they come to me clucking.. then back to the fence.. and so on... then they wait for me to get them and carry them to coop.. I know each and every time one has to lay an egg!

. I had a grey silkie that would stand next to her nest and call until I picked up her egg. She was so proud of her eggs.

@ronott1 I actually asked my stepmother about her pho again and apparently she uses a pressure cooker to cook the beef bones in pho soup base (a powder) and onions and star anise for an hour. The beef balls are added after the soup is done cooking. Raw beef tenderloin is sliced and added to the hot bowl of pho which cooks it. So I guess the thing about it being on the stove on low the whole day was actually after it was already cooked.

Thank you! He is a polydactyl cat, I usually just call him a Hemingway cat. His full name is actually Hemingway, but everyone just calls him Hemi. He's also very smart! Hemi is clicker trained and will sit, sit pretty and I'm working on getting him to shake.

Ah, polydactyl! That’s the word, thanks! I wish I could open another browser on my phone to google things when I type on forums but my phone only allows one window at a time.

May I ask if Hemingway is another name for a polydactyl...I think Ernest Hemingway married his first cousin..whether or not that union resulted in children with extra fingers and toes I don’t recall. Btw I don’t mean disrespect to anyone with first cousin marriages in their ancestry, we all have them if we go back far enough.

I had a Siamese mix I trained to sit. If he wasn’t wasn’t so shy I’d have brought him to my 5th grade show n tell. I do remember a classmate bringing his baby emus to class. They were such unique looking striped gigantic chicks.

We had a cat with similar coloring. He was a wanderer and was found a long ways from home many times

Thanks for the Pho cooking in a pressure cooker.

I will be looking for pho soup base and will need to get some beef tenderloin and beef bones.

I have 4 pressure cookers but mostly use the instantpot

No problem I need to get a pressure cooker. My stepmom’s was over $100. I wonder if I can make pho with a rice cooker, probably not. The link you showed me a few weeks ago, I can’t remember what they cooked pho in?

They are so smart. Hazel jumps up on something higher then the ground level so you know she wants a cuddle.
