With an auto turner it would be difficult to find in that price range, but maybe used. You can try eBay as well. The Hovabator 1602 I got off Strombergs always worked well. At least 10 years ago they were $50 without turner and still air. Circulated air I also got one at $100 but it had a picture window, also no turner. So I don't think I have asked this yet but I need some recommendations on incubators. I would like auto turn and to be about $60-$70. Thanks tons!

So I went to get my license renewed at a SAAQ (Quebec equivalent of DMV) at a mall and there was a pet shop nearby. Everyone was looking at puppies and kittens so I couldn’t snap a picture of them but got one of this cute bunny. View attachment 1744693
, All the babies were huddled into the corner. Not sure how everyone did before I came to the rescue.
Last night when I "tucked everyone in" the Jersey chicks were in learning how to dust themselves in the pine chips...it was adorable!
I'm working on making a simple heavy plywood guillotine drop door for right now. I liked a few automatic doors but just not in the budget for now.
. Since I'm thinking of integrating the babies i'm going to line the bottom of the fencing with the 1/2" hardware cloth about a foot along the bottom. I guess I should make a ramp too
Nearly forgot that.

It is good that the hen did not hurt the little ones!Flock Update:
So last night I came home to Cajun (sussex hen) INSIDE the babies area! She was just standing there glaring at me to get her out, without touching her of course, All the babies were huddled into the corner. Not sure how everyone did before I came to the rescue.

I'm thinking of integrating the babies with the older ones. I'm going to set up a few "escape pods" (dh term) for them and see how it goes. I'll start working on it and than when i have a day i don't need to go anywhere we'll give it a go.

Eggs:
I'm getting an egg a day!!! I have 4 in a basket right now and going to save them and sell to a lady that would love them. Everyone here sells a dozen for $2 so that's what I'll put it for.![]()
Good evening,
Chickens had a bit of a scare today when a skunk entered my yard. Went all around the run but couldn't get in, luckily. All of the chickens had quite a fright. I calmed them down afterward with soaked layer pellets and sunflower seeds in which they gobbled up.
.... but we did try four of them and I love em!!! They came out prettier to me!! In bottom pic my eggs are on the right.. I put the white ones to compare the color... look at that lovely teal
... the green egg is my EE egg... the others were light to medium brown..
