@KLIL My new hampshire reds have always been somewhat aggressive from what I've seen, but I've also noticed that that aggression seems to keep all hen flocks in check and toughens em up, they're good at keeping pred watch tooplus roos often break up any tussle that gets out of hand. But I've never had any issue of them being any meaner to young introduced chicks or new birds than other breeds in my flock(Dori didn't do more than play curious auntie after getting over some initial jealousy when Penny reared a clutch last summer). I will note that they are EXTREMELY TALKATIVE almost as bad as my Delaware was but thier very personable, Dori will jump the side fence and walk whith me to fill the feed buckets every morning and waits at the back door for pets if I haven't said hello to her! I wouldn't vote them for a tiny suburban backyard flock but if you've got a good sized coop and run they're lovely! My best layers next to my past Delaware Taco

I will keep New Hampshire Reds in mind if I dont get the other ones I want. My hopes will be a rooster in the future but not sure on a breed yet. Might just observe and see if any ladies end up being cockerels first as that seems to happen.
