Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Mom is getting on my nerves again. I love the woman, don’t get me wrong, but oh my goodness she knows how to drive me crazy. And there’s no Grace to help me out (she’s gone until Friday :(). :barnie I’m going to keep my mouth shut and ignore her for a while, I think.
Good plan. and if you want to vent, we're always available publicly or privately...

Throw Back Thursday:
As today is Thursday for me. I thought I would continue on from Part 1 of the Black Australorps I had.

So we covered the Black Australorp Chicks. We have 2 more to cover.

This is JD. He was my partners favourite Cockerel.

He was starting to Crow. I thought it was soooo funny! He was good with me and the other Cockerels and would have been a beautiful boy. Him and Chippy the Light Sussex Cockerel seen a fox one afternoon and went upto the bush to fight with it and Jordan and I come out and found Chippy being attacked. Jordan yelled wheres JD???? I said Honey he was the main protector his gone. Jordan was so annoyed the fox hurt our babies but I explained to him the Cockerels were doing their job and keeping the pullets safe.

This was Licorice. She had a sore leg when she was in the brooder so I kept her in the brooder until she was able to walk and stand on it. About 2 weeks.

She then became my 2nd favorite after Hazel. She still had a limp but was a happy bird. She would tell everyone its bed time and they better hurry up or shes going to continue yelling at them until they do.

As she still had a limp she wasn't fast like the others. One day I was free ranging them. I was home the whole day and set my alarm clock every 20 minutes to check on them. They were fine all day. I got to about 4pm and said to my partner im going to go put the chickens away now before it gets too late. Then the chickens were at the front of the house something had chased them and Licorice being the slowest was gone. :hit I was crying. Jordan was sooo mad with me and said your not going to be happy until you have no chickens left.
I no longer free ranged them alone not even for a minute by themselves again.

These 2 Black Australorps are the reasons why I want 2 more. They were just beautiful.
