Hello, I’m Anne. I live in Vermont, USA, and for non-Americans, it’s up in the Northeast, bordering Canada. I moved here two years ago, from Massachusetts, semi-retired. I’m a psychologist, working in a hospital and occasionally work in the courts.

I don’t have chickens yet! I have listened to others talk about their chickens (and other livestock) and I started wanting them SO much. The only updates I have are the ongoing “discussions” I have with my partner. He has agreed we will repurpose his old “parts” van (which still runs) into a coop. (Our property taxes are high and will be increased if we have a coop without wheels!)

Anyway, he claims he doesn’t mind the idea of chickens but this spring and summer, he wants to finish the garage, install the new woodstove, and finish another interior renovation first!

I probably can’t do all the work on the van myself. He is a carpenter and is also pretty talented at mechanics. I, on the other hand, am a good cook. So I’ll need his cooperation and help. Sigh. I wish I had chickens now!

Wish me luck! I will be helping with the garage. Last year he didn’t want me wasting time on a garden - we didn’t move in till June, a late start - but he loved the tomatoes and the flowers! I suspect he will like the eggs!
Hi Anne:frow... welcome! So glad you’re here even though you do not have chickens yet!... by being here you’ll learn tons and when you do get your gals you will be well prepared!!! You will love them :love

Hi Lily, welcome. I’m Beth, and Im a chickenless chicken lover.
Hi Beth:frow.. if you love chickens and you are chickenless... then you just wait till you actually have some to love!!! They are SO lovely... and lovable :love

Aren’t they the cutest!? I love em! Today I went to the flea market and the whole time I shopped it was for anything I could use for my chickens! I got a screen door for the extension we are building on the coop/run... I got them a ladder to roost on.. and a swing!!! I’m so excited to get to finish the run and yard so I can put in all the new toys:ya

That's awesome. I'm betting my wife and I will be heading in that direction as well. We love junking.

You boycott the Superbowl? I'm a life long fan and still pissed about it.

I love Birthdays. And Birthday cake :drool

My partner is laying next to me sick. He got my sickness. I just went to the shop to get him some medication.

My partner has wireless headphones so when he watches YouTube and im asleep it doesn't annoy me.
Well wishes to your partner.

We have wireless headphones but they only work for the desktop.

I think remember the one your talking about. Where the mum helps him with his car. 1992 was when I was born. I see a lot of killer shows that the killer goes on the media or searches for the body with the search crew its unsettling.
You’re born in the year of the monkey, the smartest sign. Yeah killers can be so unsuspecting. I lived in San Jose, California where John Wayne Gacy was from, he was a serial killer clown. Clowns are scary nowadays but back then they weren’t really supposed to be.

I let the chickens out of the coop for the first time this evening. They wandered around the yard for about an hour then went back in. We used the time to clean the coop and move it. Five days in and can't believe how cool these things are. View attachment 1668853 View attachment 1668854
Awesome chickens, welcome!

Treat Time:
Carrot and Tomato today.
The girls seemed to love it and went crazy when they seen mumma coming with their treat. :love

Hi Anne, my names Krystal. Lovely to meet you.

My partner wasn't really into the chicken idea at first he had them at his mums before we moved here they weren't ours but. When I said we are on acreage this is what I want he made it happen. I bought a coop and one afternoon I got home and it was together :D
He says they are my chickens until they start laying then they are our chickens :gig
He loves them as much as I do which is good. I said to him im saving for a bigger coop so we can have 20 chickens and he was like ok darling. Once they see the value then they turn right around.

I can't wait to see what you do with the van love! You can't have a stable coop?
