Flock/Life Journey's 2019

We dyed eggs... didn’t think my gals eggs would come out good so I bought a bunch of white eggs :sick.... but we did try four of them and I love em!!! They came out prettier to me!! In bottom pic my eggs are on the right.. I put the white ones to compare the color... look at that lovely teal :love... the green egg is my EE egg... the others were light to medium brown..View attachment 1745669View attachment 1745670
Beautiful eggs!

Happy Easter all!

If they look to be fertile I don't mind giving them back to her and letting her have a go at it
I'm not sure how to tell fertility in eggs without cracking them but the last one looks porous, and those eggs aren't recommended to be set. I did have one porous egg develop but it quit midway.

Happy Easter!!!

Yeah I'm thinking that one might be a dud.

My laptop died Friday morning, so haven't been on for a while, but it's working now. A couple of days ago, we took the older chicks outside. Also, one of my black cochin pullets is sitting, so I gave her some d'uccle eggs and cochin eggs from my older trio. I'm also deciding all the chickens I'm planning on getting rid of to make room for the younger ones. Lastly, my last border leicester gave birth to a ewe lamb, so I have three ewes and two rams. I think that's all the new news, but HAPPY EASTER to everyone!!!

Flock News:

I let the hens go outside!! I also was trying to let the older girls out in the coop but stinker hens got back in before i could clise them out. We had pecking, name calling, tail pulling, chasing, and everything :barnie:he:th
NOT how i wanted to introduce them...

But I didn't see blood and only one feather came out. So i let them be. The hens went back outside and are having fun... 2 month olds are running around inside. I'm sitting here watching the fluffbutts.
