Good morning/evening all! I'm sitting out here watching everyone go about their morning business preparing myself for doing a bunch of running around. Comcast contractor here FINALLY to run internet out from the main road to my little ranchette! Going to check inn my nieces and nephew while their parents are at work and then the dreaded DMV after and then it's dog baths and a vet trip. Phew.. then i can come home. Pics from feeding time this morning.

Morning guys!!! Let everyone out this morning and surprised them with letting them free range too!
Sesame divebomded out and caught 3 grasshoppers in seconds!!! With high grass the little yucky bugs have been over running this place... so hoping the chickens have fun munching!!

I'll try and get pics later today. Can't wait till Wednesday for day 7 candling!! I might need to look for a better candling light....

Ducks are getting huge!!! I am drawing up their house idea... I'm going to take 3 pallets and make a square with the side of coop being fourth wall. I'm going to put hardware cloth on the inside of the pallets and part if the ground. I'll then frame the roof to add angled roof tin to protect against sun and tons of rain.
I read that ducks wants open shelter so trying to make predator proof but open too gor them

Extra roosters are a reason why I don’t think I’ll buy an incubator. I have one from about 17 years ago in my basement but not sure if it works. When we move to an acreage I’ll just let the hens hatch one chick at a time when they go broody and pray for mostly pullets.

Might be a false alarm with Fleur. Although she did eat today it’s still less than normal so she probably won’t have her babies today. We got her on June 13 and guppies are usually pregnant for a month so it shouldn’t be too long. I have a breeder plastic box to put the babies in but don’t want to put her in it in case it stresses her out to death so I hope to be awake when she has the fry so I can try to prevent her from eating them. If not, then hopefully they can hide in the plants.
