I've been wanting to go to a flock raiser feed for my mixed flock, but our feed place doesn't carry the Purina or Nutrena brands, and our other options to go are too far away. Does anyone know if the game bird feeds would be similar to flock raiser in content? Here is a link to the site that provides the farm bureau with the feeds they order. I started to list the game bird feed individually, but then realized they have about three different kinds of it.

I bought Flock Raiser a few weeks ago and my hens hated it, would hardly eat it after a week of watching them just peck around with it I went and bought them the Purina Starter/Grower feed and they are back to their happy life.

Beware they may not like a change in food!

Can I have your bag of Flock Raiser?

I've been fermenting for couple years now, used to feed according to age .... Started off with Chick Starter, then switch to Home Grown Layer however due to "shipping" had to switch to Dumor. The girls ate it but found their poo was very stinky :sick , dark & soft even fermented. Reasearched feed, read how others had the same issues with the feed. I then read about Flock Raiser about a year ago, glad I did cause no more stinky, soft poo. I'm in a residential area & between fermenting FR & modified DLM there is no smell :thumbsup

I feed Bartlett mill Starter & Grower. I buy it direct from the mill in Statesville, NC. Here is how they do their date codes on their feed, so you know what to look for.
