Flock Raiser

iI give mine a KTA layer pellet mixed with a 7 grain scratch with 22% protein. I feed them in an old piece of gutter with capped ends so I can easily section it off to add grit and oyster shell/egg shells. They get it free choice, and they eat a lot of it. They seem healthy and have very hard egg shells.

what is the difference between flock raiser and chicken starter/grower? and when should i give oyster shells?

There is almost no difference between the two. I have fed Flock Raiser to new chicks, and I have fed chick starter to a mature flock. They are virtually interchangeable.

When your pullets begin to lay is when you need to start providing oyster shell in a separate container so they can help themselves to it when they feel the craving for calcium.
