FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I go to weirsdale ( hwy 25 and 42 )but I work in the villages, so I can also get it in fruitland park hwy 441

I also meant to add that you should not use the brand of feed that Nava uses........It makes your chickens hair fall out.......stan

Welcome back my friend!!

That was good Stan, which reminds me I will be having some of those chickens for sale in Dunellon Tractor Supply

Hopefully I sell them since they lost most of their feathers.
I will be also selling some dark Cornish bantams before their feathers fall off too.

Whichever feed you decide on, buy it from a dealer that sells a lot of it so that you will always get fresh feed. I was buying from an Ace that had a good market for their feed and got some that was moldy. I took it back and was given another moldy bag. I found out that there is a date on the bottom of the Purnia bag and both of these were packaged 4 months before I bought them. . I don't know if the other brands do that or not, but you should make sure that the feed is not over a month old. Moldy feed can be fatal and can be commom in our humid summers........stan

That is true.I buy mine right now from tractor supply. They have a high turnover for feed at that local store so maybe I'll just stick to buying it there.I'm not sure if my local ace is as busy for feed products.
Wow, I am so grateful for having you all to discuss these issues with. I just learned some things you don't read in a book! I read these to my husband and we will be checking those dates carefully from now on. Wish the feed stores were closer for us, or we would go back to using them. We will if we see any of the above issues with our feed. Thank you so much!

Hi, y'all. I have been lurking around this site for a few years and I finally broke down and joined up. I know, I know, sounds like commitment issues. I live in North Central Florida and am looking forward to being on here. I have a story about why I feel I must have a learning disability because I know better than to get chicks from Tractor Supply but did it anyway, In my defense it was an act of mercy as they had been pecked pretty bad by whatever was in there prior and needed some doctoring. Long story short, the bin was marked Delawares but my spidey/chicken senses were screaming "they don't look right, throw your arms up in the air over your head and run away as fast as you can". As usual, I ignored my good sense and did it anyway. My "Delawares" have morphed into White Phoenixes that I have absolutely no use for and I am left shaking my head at myself. I've never had any but my understanding is that they are terrible layers and not much meat on them. lol Chicken drama, thank God for the occasional beer.

LOL! Welcome! It took me a while to join BYC to but its a great resource. I think we have all made that mistake I have some how ended up with a very sweet and handsome new hamshire rooster. Since I am a chicken out law he may end up dinner since no one seems to want him for breeding.

Well, I culled 8 young cockerels, my BLRW weigh in at 6 pounds all clean, my red nn was just a little over 6 lbs
