FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

My hens are treated well, have a large spacious coop clean bedding and nest material and freedom to roam outside on most days.To have someone like the vegan woman in the article generalize that we chicken owners keep them in "battery" cages in the backyard is infuriating.

Admittedly it is unfair to think ALL backyard chickens are treated so well. Especially in limited space one finds the urban 'farmer'. City dwellers have been keeping squab for decades on rooftops and if the media is to be believed green spaces are cropping up on many a city roof top much more conducive to raise a small flock (especially of bantam type breeds or something the size of wyandottes)

Just remember to BREATHE TREX
have some salt,(take it with a grain of...)
this too shall pass. or go round again

I don't have them yet...we are just in the purchasing materials to build the coop stage, but they are Black Star chickens. They are sentinel chickens right now, but I'll get them in the next 2 weeks. They are beautiful girils.
Awesome! Have you checked out the "coops" tab? It has lots of great info on it! Post pics of your chickens when you get them!
