FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Afternoon everybody. I'm in Nassau County a stones throw away from the border. Got 11 one year old hens hangin out with us. Looking forward to learning lotsa good stuff!

Hi, I welcomed you on the "new member" forum earlier today, glad you dropped in!

Jacksonville - I've been on here a few months now but I am getting my first chicks on Monday!!! I'm so excited! We need a permit in my area for chickens and take a class to get it. It finally came in and we are off to do our shopping!!

Hey all, I have a couple Swedish black hen(svart hona) roosters I am getting rid of if anyone wants them.

They are about 5 months old or so. I spoke to a woman on this thread months ago about being interested but I can't seem to find her too easily.

Nice! Where are you getting them from? And what kind are you getting? You know there is a swap the last Sunday of each month on 103rd at Bent Creek Feed.

I'm getting them from a man in Middleburg who apparently has several different breeds and hatching babies weekly. I don't know him but he takes great pride in his flocks.
I'm planning on Ameracauna but will check out the others

Congratulations! I too have to acquire a permit, but can't apply until my coop is complete - which seems backwards to me ... alas we are working on the coop, so we know we will soon have the permit and will be off and running.

That does seem backwards. We haven't even started a design for a coop but we will be keeping them in our house for a few months before they are big enough to go out and that should give us plenty of time. What part of Florida are you in?
