FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Right you are! Imagine s Yankee complaining that they had to cover their tomato plants in January?!? I have about 20 Roma tomatoes still green. I brought in some eggplants too, and some rutabagas.

I have Romas & Cherokee Purples in seedling containers now waiting for 1 Mar to put outside. None of my Mortgage busters or Amish Paste seeds sprouted. I also have yellow and red bell peppers and habaneros growing. None of my green bells sprouted. I guess I got some bad seed. I will have to buy green bells at the feed store in a couple of months. First time I've bought plants in 3 years.

My fall Romas never produced well. They either fell off the vine or never ripened. I;m just going to pull them up and throw them on the compost pile.

Have onions, lettuce, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and soon potatoes too. My DH and some of his helpers.

The frost covers.

Quote: My brother's chickens in Michigan. They had a coop but the birds preferred his barn. They sold their farm but are buying another one closer to town. No more chickens but they still have their horses. My brother is retired and his wife is close to retiring so they want a winter place in Florida and the farm for the summers in Michigan. Their kids and grand kids will take care of the horses.

Those chickens need boots and wool scarves, lol.

It really is!!  How many chickens do you have and what kind of chickens do you have??
Right now we have 14. I just started chickens in Oct with 8, lost 4, got four more, lost two, got 3 bantams, then 5 more chicks. Our first four lost were due predators, from to the coop not being shorn up and sturdy. I got help with the coop and now it seems to be keeping them safe. Then I lost one when I let them out too early in the am, and a predator must have come by. Then the most recent one didn't make it into the coop at night. It was dark and raining heavily, and I didn't do a head count. :(. So now I have 2 barred Rock pullets, one buff Orpington, one americauna white rooster, a white sex link and black sex link. Then 3 bantam babies and 5 americauna babies. In a nutshell. ;)
