FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Welcome to BYC, Dee. I am in Central Florida. No chickens until we move in the Spring. I have found it to be a friendly, info packed site so I can prepare to raise safe, healthy poultry
You will find lots of info on this site. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will be here soon.

It is supposed to get colder tonight around 30.

Where are you Cmom? Im in Tampa. I saw 37 for the low tonight, but of course it can change. I will bring the chickies in the garage, off the floor, and a heatlamp when I go to bed. I usually cover the far end of the cage with a couple towels to hold in the heat, but still give them a choice to be cool. That is also how I gauge their readiness to go without the lamp; if they hang out away from the towels I know they are more cold tolerant.

Welcome LynnR. I"m across the state from you in Melbourne. Really friendly bunch on here and SMART!!

Weathermen don't understand this is Florida and 40 is too cold for us.
Some of the other threads I'm on include members from Wisconsin, Wyoming and Michigan...weathermen aren't the only ones that don't understand 40* being too cold for us, lol! Hard to get any sympathy at all when you're talking to people that have temps in the minus figures.

Hi everyone, I'm in North Fl. Orange Park/Lakeside area.

East Arlington here! Finally went to Orange Park Area for the first time. Had to go to tractor supply Sunday to get all my baby chick needs. Headed over to Middleburg to pick up the chicks right after and they are doing great!!

Right you are! Imagine s Yankee complaining that they had to cover their tomato plants in January?!? I have about 20 Roma tomatoes still green. I brought in some eggplants too, and some rutabagas. :)
