X2. I'd lie low (plant bushes, move the pen, etc.) and keep them, if at all possible. I'm probably your closest BYC neighbor, but my pen of layers is pretty full. My neighbor has expressed an interest in getting a few chickens soon, so if it doesn't work out for you I can have her contact you. Don't worry...we don't eat our feathered friends! Keep us posted.

x2 about the local laws....a loud chicken can't be much louder than a Large dog, so if you are "allowed" to keep them I would go for it....FYI on C/List.....they may end up in some one's kitchen...so be very careful if you want them to live a long happy life

You know we're all going to encourage you to keep them if it is at all possible, especially if it's legal where you are. Otherwise, you could bring them to our next Poultry Club meeting this Friday in West Palm Beach. We're having an in-club poultry show, you could put them on display and probably find them good homes with other club members. Check out http://www.PoultryFanciers.com for more information.

Hi all I have been on BYC for a few months but never ventured over here! Its nice to see sooo many Floridians. I got the chicken hatching disease and after starting with 11 chicks, now have 33 and 3 incubators full of eggs. Different breeds of course, and since my 2 roosters have been busy with the ladies, I am now hatching some of my own mixed breeds, till my hubby gets my breeding pens built. OMG I need incubators anonymous! MY NAME IS CHICKIECHIK AND I AM HATCHING ADDICTED
