FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I was in Tractor Supply in Plant City yesterday and noticed that some of the chicks had a messy bottom (I'm being polite here.

) . I told the guy at the service desk, and he did nothing. I can't believe that they didn't immediately remove that tub of chicks. If you were considering buying chicks from the Plant City TSC, look elsewhere. Those chicks are going to have a high fatality rate.

Messy bottom happens a lot with feed store chicks. Often they get handled a lot and overheated. Lots of stress involved. Usually the clerks are not too interested in advice from customers.
On another note, I have some Deles and Australorp chicks if you are still looking for them, send me a P.M. ......stan

I was in TSC in Zhills last week and they sold 4 ducklings to two young ladies who didn't have a clue. I happen to get involved because they asked an employee about what they needed for them, his reply was "I don't know I work in the dog section".
So, I told them what I knew about chicks to at least get them on the right pathway.... JEEZ.

Plus, Hi Stan!

Hi All, I was at 3 TSCs over the past few weeks. No knowledge at any of them. Saw dead and sick chicks at 2 of them. Brooder lights turned off, ect. Sent an e-mail to corporate office and need to follow up with a letter to the board members. I have done this before with other corporations with success.

But,on a good note... Here is a brag to Chris the manager at the Seminole Feed Store on State Road 40 in Ocala by the airport. Talked to him just before they started chick days for the first time. He had customers asking for chicks, so he did his research before he ordered any. Lined up some local breeders to help him trouble shoot. BTW, he is a rabbit breeder. When I asked him a few questions he was able to answer them. So yes I will send people to them.

I sent a similar e-mail about the store in Lake Wales. Got an e-mail that BOs were the chick of the week and went to go get some and they didn't have one in the store. Got a lame excuse they may have had some a few weeks ago. The employees didn't have a clue. Two weeks later they had some but by then I was so PO'd they are the last people I'd buy chicks from. Never even got a reply to the e-mail.

Wasn't someone looking for a big-eared rat on here earlier? (Sorry, I can't find the post.) There is one for free on Tampa Freecycle today - the post calls it a "Dumbo Rat". IF it's what the person is looking for I can forward the e-mail.
