FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I'm in Centeral West Florida- Pasco County, Hudson, Florida to be exact. Currently we have a small flock of 5 chickens= 2 pheasant rocks, 2 RIR, and 1 white rock..... we had 2 whites but lost one a few weeks ago to a dog in the neighborhood! Egg laying status, only one of our five are giving up the egg and we are patiently awaiting the others to start their cycle

. The one laying is a RIR that we call "Red".

Is there anyone in the Jacksonville area that might be willing to help me out? I need a HUGE favor and I'm willing to compensate whoever for their troubles!

MUST LOVE DOGS!

WONDERFUL! I think you will be very pleased with her chicks. I got my first ones from her and one is SQ+++. He's the only roo I kept. He's so good I just can't let go of him even though he might get me 'busted' in my residential neighborhood. He's a blue and has exceptional qualities. He also pecks me when I first open the door to the coop and reach in to feed/water/pet "His" girls! Ha! So before he can get that first peck, I scoop him up, put him under my arm and take him with me to do all the coop maintenance. He is just the sweetest little lamb in my arms. He doesn't struggle or fuss at all. I think he looks forward to the ride! Once I put the morning treat bowl down he's ready to get down and eat. Drama over, bandaids averted, everybody's happy.

The good thing about having a small flock is that you can enjoy each one individually and see their distinct personalities. I am glad you're starting out small, it's a lot more fun and a lot less work. Bigger isn't always better, I've found.

Hello,
I am new to this forum. I am a 4-H Leader with a group working on poultry and leadership projects. We are working to change the county ordinance that prevents backyard poultry keeping in Pinellas County which is across the bay from Tampa. I have 7 production white Leghorn Hyline 136 Hybrids, one white Silkie and 3 domestic Muscovy ducks.
