FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Stan, eat your heart out.  He looks almost like the one I kept.  The other 2 have a point that's not quite straight but other than that they look the same body wise.
Cindy,  Actually he looks quite content.  I wish I could say the same for the hens.  3 roos and 6 hens.  A term comes to mind that is not suitable for a family forum.

I really need to rehome one.  Any takers.

Ingrid, I posted his picture on facebook, and there have been lots of ooos and ahs.  I told folks that there are more available, so maybe you will get some takers.  Stan, are yours younger?  All of Ingrid's have great tails.  They are great type.  That U shape is the best I have seen locally.  I sure hope these guys are going to make lots of chicks with all that action Ingrid.  Have you checked for fertility yet?

Outback is getting lots of visitors, the roosters found him within 10 minutes of being let out to range and some of the girls are perching on his cage.  He just seems really bored.  He does have lots of chicken and geese TV, but it is not the same as being part of the show.

Anyone else having a mosquito plague since Debbie came to call?
This happened back in '04 too after the hurricanes. Don't usually have much of a problem with them here on the sand ridge but we do now! The dog didn't even resist when I put the mosquito repellant on him this morning. He just sat calmly and let me spray. He's a Pyrenees so they can't get him anywhere but his face, but without the Off there'd be a cloud over him.
This will pass in a few more days like it did the last time when the natural predators catch up, but in the interim it is sure making morning and evening chores a real chore. Fill feeders and waterers with one hand, wave off mosquitoes with the other!
Yes. I'm a pint low on blood.

I havent seen a mosquito plague, as I expected thankfully. But maybe its because they haven't hatched yet

. I haven't seen any mosquito larva in our pond, but what we do have is a ton of tad poles. Do tadpoles eat mosquito eggs? I hope so. When we do have swarms of them, I'm thinking of buying some cheap feeder fish so that they'll eat any eggs they lay in the pond.

Update
Yesterday was a busy day. I had a visit from channel 20 news and they did a story about the road and how there were many people on this road with medical needs I received many calls from the police, to the county commissioner, from FEMA and from my dear chicken friends. I am PROUD to belong to the many Facebook chicken sites. These sites are Chicken Swap of Florida, Florida Kickin Chicken Buy/Sell/Swap, Northeast Florida Farm & Garden Swap, The Chicken Pit and if I forgot anyone forgive me. One of my neighbors tried getting out yesterday in his new truck only to run into a deep hole and his front bumper popped off. The county commissioner came out yesterday and went wading in the road I don’t think he believed it was very deep. The county commissioner called me yesterday and informed me the road would be fixed TODAY. Today my road is getting the much needed work. Maybe by this afternoon everyone will have a chance on getting out. I still have plenty to do I am not sure yet if any chicken pens are safe to put chickens back into. I have to keep a eye open for any type of mold I don’t want anything to hurt what chickens I have left I don’t think I can keep going without my chickens and my wife tells me we will watch for some chickens to replace the ones I lost. My wife has worked hard this last week but not at work but in the home. She baked, boiled, cooked anything she thought the chickens will eat. She is the best thing in my life. I hope by the first of next month I should be able to start watching for replacement chickens. I want to thank everyone involved in helping things done, for their prayers , for the kindness and most of all for being my friend. Thank you…Carl

Glad to hear it!

DEET can be toxic to dogs. If you've been using it without incident than your dog is probably ok with it. Just wanted to mention that we just started using Centaura a new spray by Farnam and it is wonderfully effective, smells nice & is safe for dogs, horses & people too. It has Picaridin instead of DEET. I have no affiliation to the company just a happy customer.

Big "LIKE". Thanks for the update, Sugar Sand. Chicken people are the best. So glad all the efforts paid off and he's getting the help. I'm sure he'll have problem replacing those chickens.

@ BradnKellie!

Plenty of skeeters here but that's not unusual. They seem especially fond of my boxer mix with his light, very short coat. i'm going to have to see about that spray for him.

Just getting caught up on posts. I can't believe what some of our Florida people are going through right now. I will keep you all in my thoughts. What a wonderful group of people we belong to. It's great hearing about so many people helping however they can. I am in South Florida. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

xoxo Annmarie
