Thanks all for the good advice how long do you suggest quarantine? And what should I be specifically looking for? I have checked the ears, eyes, nose, crops, under the feathers, and the poop is pretty normal looking for birds anyways. There is no runny eyes, nose, dirty ears. I am feeding pellets, crushed oyster shell, some corn and scraps, they are eating great and I have even been free ranging them for a small time in the morning and afternoon under my supervision of course due to chicken hawks. A couple are molting but right after i got them them temps changed drastically going up and down. I have read all of the learning centers info. Thanks in advance for any and all your advice.

Should be a minimum 30 days

looking doesnt always show something sadly. You can look for clear eyes, nares. Its the hidden funk that will get you. Some birds are carriers and there are people who will sell them knowing they are.

Thank you very much for the welcome. Forgot to mention the flock...10 Golden Buff Sex-Linked Chicken ladies about 10-11 weeks old. Just put the out today in the run, having completed the coop in the last few days. They were in the run a couple days ago as the sun went down, starting a cacaphony of "come get me daddy, its getting dark out here!" Brought them back in to the lighted/heated garage.

Now that I have the coop finished with doors, I'll leave a light on for them tonight in the closed coop and see how it goes. Have to keep them happy.

I agree. I now also use a "sentinel" bird, after the new birds have been in quarantine and show no issues, I add one from my existing flock to test for any hidden illnesses that the new birds may be carriers for.

The birds I had arrived with eye swelling, which is a sign of respiratory illness. Any puffiness or swelling around the eyes, eye bubbles, discharge, sneezing, etc. Also check for lice or mites which are common and can spread through your entire flock, while those aren't deadly they can be a real pain to deal with.
