FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I thought I'd share a few pictures of the grazing bed I made in my main coop. I put it right next to the sides to discourage perching/pooping on it. Since it's always in the shade, wheat seems to be the best crop to grow in it right now. I probably made it too high, but I read somewhere the grass grows healthier the longer it gets before snipping it off.
wao that was a great idea

Given me an idea to try it myself. What did you do? Sprinkle the seeds and water a little each day till sprouting?
The first time, I tried growing it in a pan first and laying it down like sod. It didn't work very well. I used millet that time and I don't think it liked the shade. This time i just covered the little bit of earth in the box with a layer of wheat seed and then I hardly covered the seed with dirt, not even a half inch really. Watered it everyday and it worked!

How is the area? Looking for that Ohio Country feel. The housing prices are very reasonable, from what I can see.

I like Okeechobee. We have a ranch there and it is laid back, people are nice, prices are about the same as the coast but we have farms with fruits and veggies. The air is not polluted as some om Fl. The housing prices are pretty good. You can go on line and see that. Florida is Florida. Hot most of the time and cool only once in a while. We are close to the Kissimmee River and Lake Okeechobee so we get the breezes most days that save us. A trip to see it would be beneficial.

I'd really like to come to the Speckled Perch Fest, but I'm not sure DH would be up for a drive that long!

Edit: We're going!

Any BYC'rs gonna be there?
