FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Okay, folks, I could use some sources for chicks. I have plans to place an order through MPC, but I can't make the minimum order by myself for the date I need to order and I've had little luck confirming a shared order with anyone else. I have to have my babies in between January and March, because I have to be out of town for a few days in May. I have people who are willing to come let them in and out of a coop and check their feed and water a few times a day, but no one who is able to chick-sit round the clock for littles. If I can't have them here with time to get them into a coop before that trip, then I won't be able to get them until mid-May when the trip is over.

I don't want to name my exact city for privacy reasons, but I'm about an hour south of Tampa and I'm willing to drive as far east as Orlando and as far south as Naples. I'm looking for one female chick from each of four different breeds - one Australorp, one White Leghorn, one Easter Egger, and one Sicilian Buttercup. The breeds were all specifically chosen after weeks of research, so I'd prefer not to deviate if at all possible.

Anybody got any bites? I'd like to reserve the chicks from MPC soonish so they're guaranteed, but if someone has a local source that will reservefemale chicks this far in advance, I'm all ears.

I suggest you look into local farmers market type swap meets, I'm sure there are some in your area.
We have about three or four within driving distance of where I live but I'm in north central Florida by St Augustine which is kinda far from you.
If you decide to take a road trip PM me your welcome to stop by and visit.
PS. after months of research on different breeds I decided on couchins, polish, brahmas and Orpingtons.
One of the local members was giving away some Easter egger hens and another local member wanted to re home a marran rooster so that's what I now have and couldn't be happier with them. LoL
Try looking on the chickens for sale and trade forum too. Good luck![QUOTE="HennaRose, post: 14337651, member: 0"]Okay, folks, I could use some sources for chicks. Hello fellow Floridians i recently lost my big red rooster. I would like to replace him with a similar type of rooste, he was a New Hampshire Red. Im looking for any Rhode island, New Hampshire, or production reds. I would prefer a bird 6months or older. I live in central Florida Sanford, Orlando area. Please contact me directly or by post to this Blog.
Thank you all
I joined local groups on FaceBook and often see chicks/pullets/hens and roos for sale.

Chickens of Pasco FL is one of them, and Chicken Swap of Florida is another. Maybe try there and keep watch.

I have plenty of Heritage Rhode Island Red cockerels around 7 months old, they are from the Reese/Mohawk line. The one stretching in the middle of the photo I'm keeping. He recently won Champion American at a poultry show. His comb somehow got a cut in between the middle points so I can't show him any more but he will go into a breeding pen.

I met Cmom and saw her awesomely handsome roos at the Central FL Show in Inverness. Wow!
