We are in those nice new apts on Spring Lake Road. I work at that Walmart, currently! I'm so close I ride my bicycle back and forth to work. There is a home on the other side of Zephyr lake that has chickens.. I hear a rooster crow every once and a while! And it's in a neighborhood with lots of houses so my guess is that there aren't too many neighbors against chooks. I really like the Belleview area, and Weirsdale too. The Villages are completely NUTS.

Hi,

My name is Danielle and I am looking for more chicks I am in Hudson/New Port Richey. I am interested in 3-5 Easter Egger/Americauna, 3-5 Brown or white leghorn or a white egg layer of some sort, 3-5 Maran or welsummer. I can't have roosters where I am so I am interested in only pullets. They do not have to be day old but small enough to keep inside for a little while as our coop is not up yet, my current chicks are about 2 weeks old. I am willing to travel up to a hour radius of my location especially if you have all i am looking for. It is really hard to find what I want at local feed stores and most here carry straight run only and any time i would get straight run chicks i would have mostly roosters. Please email me at [email protected] if you can help me get these chickies, if they are older i may have to wait a few weeks for them until we can get our coop up but I will happily give a deposit on them if they are older pullets prefer them to not have layed yet. Thanks.

With you wanting very young pullets, your best bet is getting them from someone who got them from a hatchery already sexed.
Otherwise, you will need to wait for them to get a little older for a breeder to sex them.
The exception is the welsummer. I THINK they can be color sexed at birth.

With marans, certain breeds will start showing the combs and wattles around 3 weeks of age.

I would also suggest looking for someone else placing an order and see if you can split/add tom it to save on shipping.

thanks. Yea i would like to get some ordered for sure but i dont need 25 even I have found sites that do lower than 25 shipments but at the moment like 65.00 is a lil tough to pay for a bit. i need to call the feed stores again. i dont mind slightly older but if they are big enough to have to go into a coop i would have to wait a few weeks for them since we have to move our coop from zephyrhills to npr/hudson.
