Yes it's you!!! I just found a home for the 2 roos, but I will keep you in mind for sure. I can't ask for any more than what you state here. I have to face it, how many roos can be pets? It's more realistic and practical but sad , but they will be happy right up to the end.

Well the little roosters I have are going to be a week old on Monday if either of you would like them, let me know. They are standard chicks.. I am a bit far from West Palm, but not too far from Spring Hill,fl.

I would be very interested in seeing how you process a chicken for food. I've been actually hoping to find a place local that processes fresh happy chickens. I know you are kind of far from me but I would love to learn how it works. Might be worth a day trip

Do you ever sell your chickens after processing or know anyone that does? I'm on the Space Coast and I just don't know enough chicken people to know of people that do their own processing. I would love to find somewhere to buy fresh happy free range chicken for dinner

unfortunalty nobody does chickens anymore! i have found ones who do cows, pigs, goats but NO chickens................SIGH. I seen a girl do it & skin them. so quick & it is how i would do it if i had the guts! LOL

I am currently trying out my BO roo, Clarence, with the flock. The roo I had with the flock (locked up now) was chasing some of my hens away! He's in there with 3 other nasty hens that have all been ganging up on others in the flock.

So far, Clarence is behaving. Last year I had to buy my neighbor a hen. I bought a BO hen from Nava. She laid an egg in my car. I put it in the fridge, later that night Nava told me it's fertile. So that's Clarence. He used to be "the rapist". He's been locked up, and the past month locked up with a fellow hen hatch mate, and has been behaving. So now he's with the flock.

I haven't had any predator issues, yet, but lately there have been coyote sightings both north and south of me in Pinellas, and I just want to be on the safe side. We do have lots of raccoons, but they are apparently lazy city racoons who prefer garbage over live chickens. I think I am going to change my design a bit and use 4 foot pieces. It will work out just as well.

Coyotes in Pinellas???? We moved to Live Oak from Largo 8 years ago. With as built up as Pinellas is, I can't even imagine where they would hide out. Wow.

Unfortunately where I am now, rural area on 10 acres, we have coyotes, fox, raccoons, opossums, and hawks that we have to watch out for. Our most recent attack was a hawk last week. Got one of my buff girls. I interrupted before it could actually feed but she was dead and the ground was covered in feathers.

Does anyone know if there's anyone within an hour or two of me that has show quality Orpingtons for sale? Eggs, day olds or started birds is fine. I've just had my fill of shipped eggs for now.

this thread has been really active lately
