Melons and winter squash do take up a lot of room, but the production is good too. You only need one or two plants and you are set for the season.
This year I am planting my vine plants down the corn and okra rows so that the vines can crawl on the ground while the stalky plants reach for the sky.
Hopefully, this will help save garden space.

Wonder if I could build a triangle frame from feed lot panel for the melon vine to crawl over. Then it wouldn't run all over the ground.
