i love it when they get all mech-warrior meets dinosaur like that!

Yep. All mutts. I got them from a woman my wife works with. She has tons of banties running around her yard. They're really cool. I come home stressed out from work and sit outside and watch them. They're the best therapy in the world. The oldest ones were born about mid february so I'm not expecting any eggs till late July(?) or August. Those pics are just the roos. Plus we have 7 Aussies, and we picked up a splash silkie and an accident naked neck silkie at the last swap.

I guess it's just as likely as if you were asking to keep them as livestock, maybe even less. There's just less stigma to many citizens/lawmakers if you say these birds are your pets and not providers of food. If they're pets then the restrictions should be on noise & smell, as with any other type of pet you could legally keep.

Ok 1st I think there is a new person from TPA......welcome!!!

Now, today I finally started working on my backyard and coop...but, I was working on 2 things on my "honey do list" (thank you hon! lol) and working on the coop.....so I only got to clear the area (aka move what seemed like a million brikes, move 2 small plan tree's and cut a big dead'ish tree)...here are some pics...

Thanks for looking....I hope to be done in 2 weeks...but if the house has thought me anything is that I can never finish something on my own crazy timelines!!! lol

Hope to meet/see some of you on the 18th!!!

That's a really nice spot Juan! love your huge tree. Use lots of hardware cloth on your coop sides so they can catch any breezes and to discourage doggies and other critters from trying to break in.

Thanks Chooksin...I love that tree it makes it so cool back there. I cant wait to get a hammock next to the coop so I can watch chick TV before I nap! lol

I already got some HW cloth and chicks has some I will prob be picking up this weekend when I pick up my kid (she lives on the way

)...I'm thinking about even putting cloth on the a bottom rather than a skirt...one of my dogs is a hound mix and she did love harrasing ducks at the appartment...so I'm kida worried, I want to make it as secure as possible. I do plan to have sand in the run for easy scoop...so the cloth bottom shouldn't be much of a problem.....I hope....

Mine like to dig down really deep in the sand so you may want to consider that. I have my pen (open air so have no coop) on concrete pavers and have a wire apron under that on the outside. The pavers go inside the coop a bit but then they have the center area to dig in.
