Hi I am a new chicken owner and would like to be added to the Florida link and list.
My stats:
julsmc
Tampa, Florida
10 hens 2 silkies, RIR, Buff Orpington, Black Austrolorp, Splash Maran, Partridge Cochin, 3 EE

Been very busy these past weeks. I don't have the garden beds quit ready yet but I do have a lot of seeds started. I have a lot of fruit trees growing in the yard already like, Mango (1st time it fruited was this year), mayer lemon (loaded with lemons), Pink lemon (baby still), Navel orange (only 1 orange on the little tree), 3 blueberry bushes, and lots of pomegranate bushes. We need to plant new papayas and get all the new baby seedlings in their homes. This fall I plan to turn our front yard into an edible garden, I would love to see picyures of how to go about it because I don't know how to really make that happen. Any ideas.

Damn Deb, I'm just over an hour away, form Sarasota.
Wish I lived closer, my silkies are one of the few breeds of mine, that are still laying in this heat.

Enjoy your Florida visit!!

Well, we are actually in Bradenton but not everyone knows where that is. We are flying to Nova Scotia tomorrow , for a week then back here for two days, then drive home. But I figured if I can get hatching eggs
without shipping I will get a better hatch rate.:)
How about you send me a price on what you have, maybe we could meet up? Or even chicks?

I might consider incubating some eggs for you. I have a new incubator that I have been wanting to try out, but I already hatched what I wanted this year (and really shouldn't do any more!). I had the same model before, so I have used it, but it had a short and I had to switch all the eggs to an older incubator, so I'd like to go from start to finish in this one and see how it does.
