Uh, I can't say that I've ever had a roo sit on eggs before. Can you post a pic?

A pic of the "roo" or of the "roo" on the eggs? I will try, I have been meaning to do that.

Hi, thank you. We've lived here since 2000. We like it, but I think if the economy hadn't taken a nose dive every square inch of land would be developed. I'm grateful for my little acre to keep my kids and critters happy! My husband is a Ft. Lauderdale native.

Hi. I see you're new here too! Are you in Southwest Ranches? How many chickens do you have - we have 28 - all different kinds, some young and some very old.

Thanks Nava. Hi. My family loves Naked Necks too - we have four, including one incredibly smart, spoiled hen who is my eldest daughter's constant companion.

1. yes roosters are bigger in size than the hens

2. Ithink you saw your roo in the nest box, and that is normal for the roos to do, they don't do it that often but i guess they do it so that they can ( flirt, entice, encourage what ever the word might be ) the hens

I've seen an Orp roo with very strong Motherly instincts, he took over the chicks that a mother hen left. he raised them I had a tread about him I'll see if I can find it

here he is getting ready to go to bed

here he is keeping them warm, I don't think that that big one could fit but the silkie loved the warmth
