I really like the brown 1 in the picture & the blonde hiding under the black 1.

The brown is a peachick, the blonde looking could be the other peachick or one of the Cochins as they are lightin color too.

Wont know on older birds for a short while. May get rid of a couple older birds as we keep a few of the younger ones.

I do believe you are wrong.Sure looks like a roo to me.But in the long run he will prove hat he is.

He is just over 5 months old, he and ButterCake are the same age. But we know now he IS a roo! Just checked an egg and it was fertilized!! BTW, how many eggs should I get from each hen? Cluckers--the oldest one has only been laying 1 per day. She is pretty regular about the time she lays, Butter Cake is still different times. This morning I went to gather the usualy 2 eggs, but there were three. When I just went out to put them back in the coop for the night, I thought maybe one of the 3 I got this morning was from last night, so I checked and there was an egg! So I got 4 eggs today and we only have 2 hens.

Hens should lay one egg a day and take a day off in there somewhere, sometimes (rare) you will get more than one a day from a hen. When they first start laying the eggs can be smaller, shells can be weaker, and they can not lay everyday. Their systems get in check quickly though once they start.

5 months and not crowing? Interesting. How did you know the egg was fertile? I've only had chickens about 6 months so still learning

My family has 3 hens. They are different ages but all born before Easter.

Not that I'm an expert because that was only my second batch of ducks but that worked for me. Shellie knows better
