My forty dollar chick all fluffed up. Although after comparing pictures she looks more like a blue than a lavender. Don't see any muffs or beard yet either. PS. The other egg was a quiter at about 9 or 10 days. Oh well......

I process almost all of the surplus cockerels that result from my broody hens' hatchings. Let me know if you'd like to come see how it's done, or to bring your own birds and process them here. I'm in western West Palm Beach.

Thanks for the offer. You're a bit far but we may take you up on it!!

Well I really expected more than 1 of them hatch, but it doesn't surprise me with shipped eggs. When I saw that 3 of them were the long skinny eggs I knew it that wasn't good. I don't ever hatch odd shaped eggs from my girls. The real round ones don't do well either. I've only gotten one of them to hatch.

ibeier2000 asked What type of Chickens". I don't know, but am going to search the site to see if I can figure that out!

Hey Floridachicken1958 & ItsAZoo! Look at my new home/brooder my hubby made for my Dom chickies!! I LOVE IT!

We made their new home out of the bottom of an old dog house & the extra chicken wire that we had left over from renovating our run! I love it! My hubby is THE BEST!! & instead of the top coming off to fill the waterer & food container, he made a front door!
