FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Hi from Old Town Florida! (That's Dixie County, about 45 miles north east of Gainesville)

Looking for local breeders of non-hatchery poultry. Particularly Americaunas, mille fluer d'uccle, copper marans, and runner ducks. Show quality not neccesary, but I am interested in good, healthy stock.

from Lake Wales. Don't have the breeds your looking for. Non hatchery Buff Orps and coming soon Black Aussies from tigercreek.

I have let my EE who goes broody often raise two sets of chicks this year- it was so easy (at least for the humans) and we never separated her from the flock...

I separate my broodies and their chicks from the regular flock because the regular flock seems to like, even prefer, the medicated chick starter.
That stuff is too expensive to feed to the big fat laying hens....

When the chicks are a couple of months old, my broodies are so good that they merge the babies into the flock for me.

I do like separating the mommies for a while and keeping them on that higher protein chick starter. It gives them a chance to put some weight back on before returning to the flock
