Yup. Isn't much of a profit making thing sometimes...

I don't raise chicks to sell but when I need to sell a bird, it's not easy. It took weeks before this lady who really wanted my birds would part with $20 each for my beautiful d'uccle hens. Her reasoning was that she'd just picked up a quad at the auction for $35. Lotta auction going people in my area and a lot of backyard chicken breeders.

What a handsome Roo. Looks to be about a year old to me. He will get bigger. LOL I know mine did. They were both a year old on Christmas and they have both filled out and put on weight since then. Has he met his ladies yet or is he still in quarantine?

What breed are they if they are buff and look like the above photo, but have a smushed comb. (can't think of the name type of comb, sorry) Real pretty one was free at the TSC swap this weekend, tame as a puppy. No, I didn't bring him home.

Even pure bred can throw an odd characteristic now and then, depending whats in their linage. He might not be to SOP but that doesn't make him any less a BO. Just like a Ameraraucana can throw a clean faced chick. That's how all the different breeds got started. They bred for the traits they wanted till they bred true, but occasionally there is a throw back. I would call him an Oops but than I have a warped sense of humor with silly tendencies. Hey I loved Monty Python's Flying Circus.

H is a Buff Orpinton. I sold Ibier a Buff awhile back & I asked for him back & she said ain't noway you can have him back cause his Girlfriends wanna go to if he goes.She said noway.
