thanks for the encouragement. It JUST occurred to me that I may have an aussie ROO. Maybe that is why it's so aggressive? Hmmmmmmmm how can you tell the difference this young? Off to research.

I saw the cutest thing earlier. My Turken Roo got onto one of the "old" chicks" for going after one of the newbies. I was so impressed!

Great to meet you Stephanie and your family AND the chicks! Sorry to hear they have lice. Should be easy enough to clear up though. I was impressed with the turnout today. I ended up trading the roosters for that duck with the topknot. My poor chickens are absolutely terrified of him.

What kind of duck is this? It looks awesome. I keep telling myself I don't have room or water for ducks but one like that would probably get a pond built for it very quickly.

I have 18 abandoned fish ponds on my property and as soon as I can figure out a way to predator proof one of them. I'm getting ducks. LOL

Build the ducks a vented predator proof house to be locked in over night. Rid the pond of all turtles as they like to make snacks of ducklings and also the feet or grown ducks. Choose your duck breed wisely to fit your needs or desires.
