FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

I am back in chicken! After my first attempt at chicken herding ended with respiratory illness, I decided to hatch shipped eggs.

Here are some clear pics of each and every one! Their mug shots are below. I am once again a chicken warden.

These are show quality bantam cochins. In about 8 weeks I may be offering some roos if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the support in Florida!

Got in touch with the "Tiger" LOL He's Great & So incredibly nice & helpful. I'm hoping to go & see him next week...:) Thanks for the info...if for some reason he gets a run on his chickens..due to my high recommendation I'll be posting agin & I'll also keep the Americauna hook up in mind! I'd like to get my girls from the same place...mixing my 3 & these additions will be complicated enough! :)

GAP Flying Low :)

There is also Spring Hill Heritage Poultry. I have two of thier Buckeyes and one Russian Orloff. The Buckeyes are awesome. The Orloff is pretty. But that's about it.....
I don't breed, but I just hatched Marradura Basques from Skyline Poultry, and have a pair if you are interested. I have a really nice roo that is just becoming such a looker.

In a few more months I'd be interested. Right now I need to get my chicks big enough to go into the run and build a coop for them. Once the small holding pen is empty, I'll be looking for a few breeds to add to my flock :)

This is my attempt at controlling Chicken Math :D

I just replaced my old ratty chicken coop with the world's most awesome coop. It's big enough to house about 30 chickens LOL, but I only have 2 three-year-old hens (a BO and a BR - my EE died last month :( ). I want to get 3 more, but at this point have no idea where to get 3 from... I'd love young pullets, but I don't know how to go about finding some locally. I'd like a good layer or two and a fancy pretty girl (polish, showgirl or silkie). I don't need show quality birds - just happy healthy birds... I can't hatch eggs bc I can't have roosters where I live and would have to rehome the DAY they crowed... and I don't want to wait for chick season at the local feed stores to buy sexed chicks bc that's a loooooong wait.

I'll post pics of my coop later, but it's 6' wide x 8' long x 8' tall. We're finishing off the hardwire cloth on the windows this weekend, tiling the interior, finishing painting the exterior and attaching it to our existing run. I'll eventually sell my old coop bc it would be useful for someone out there.

Ideas for me on how I can get three more hens?

Has anyone ever ordered from Strombergs? They have 2 breeds that I want though I am leary of them due to a no live guarantee! Plus how high of quality of Crevecouer and Russian Orloff come from a hatchery?

I am just south of Lakeland in Highland City. I could help you out with hatching eggs and any of the roosters could be got rid of at one of the swaps at the feed store just down the road from me. If you are close enough and would like to work something out let me know. I have a dozen Rouen eggs being delivered today and am going to set them tomorrow, so the incubator will be tied up for a little while

Do you know what the schedule is?  I know it moves from feed store to feed store every Saturday, I just don't know what the rotation is.

The only thing I've figured out is Lonesome Dove is the first Saturday and Highland City is the last Saturday. They post it on the Kickin Chicken Facebook page and on Craigslist. I don't know if/where tomorrows is being held.

* Just found on Craigslist that tomorrows is in Plant City. Next weekends is Davenport/Haines City.
