Alan, I'm not sure yet. They will be black blue and splash if I'm lucky. Some of the eggs are descentents of Maria Hall's eggs. All I know now is that I have 20 eggs, and I could not possibly keep that many more chickens.

For those of you who buy calves to grow for food, how does the cost of raising the calf compare to the cost of store bought? Or is it about the quality?

seminole wind- That's a good point. For the price, only the bull calf is worth raising for meat. The heifers are a little pricey for that. I should mention that Dexters make the ideal family milk cow. They are actually dual-purpose cattle (milk and meat). Some people even use Dexters as draft animals because they are easy to train. They are a very old Irish breed that has always been the smallest true breed of cattle. No hormones or antibiotics have been used on these calves.

Not knowing how many that will be.

there are a lot of people e-mailing me asking if they can sell this and that, there is going to be A LOT of people, so now i need to think of a bathroom, i just can't have everybody come in the house, i need a porta potty i'm going to rent , but i wanted to ask you guys if it would be too much to ask for Donations to cover the cost? what do you all think. what have you done before, this is my first swap............

At one of the festivals that we went to, they had a porta potty attendant. He cleaned it between each user. The other one did not. The non attendant porta potty did not have a line. The attendant one had about 100 people lined up. We were thinking that it was just a very clever person who slipped in the event with cleaner and wipes and decided to make some good tip money. Everyone handed him at least a dollar. We figured that throughout the entire day, he 'cleaned up'
I don't know if you charged two dollars per visit, if maybe that would pay for it? I have no idea what they charge to rent one, so you have to make sure you don't charge more than the market will allow.
I know school teachers that have never urinated in their entire lives. or at least until summer break.

I do not know if we will attend until the day arrives. We will not bring anything but cash.
I have plenty of wants, but no true needs...however, I have the ability to overcome that hurdle.
