Florida Sunshine Classic, Jan. 8-9, Lake City, FL. Fairgrounds

Alieda, so glad you made it home safely!! The last swap I went to at your place, I had a flat tire on my trailer on the way home. Thank goodness I could get off at the rest stop.

Had a great time seeing everyone today! Been at it since Wednesday, so it is nice to finally sit down!!! Congratulations to Aimee Crego(BYC-signaturefarm) for BB with her beautiful White Silkie pullet!!! Sold some sweeties and picked up a couple of OE(like i need anymore) myself!!

See ya'll down the road!

It seemed like there were less vendors outside this year.
Were the birds sold early and then gone or was I Craazzy?

I got there around 12:30. I didn't want to get there too early because I didn't want to miss the judging . .. .

Vickie, Yes it was on the trailer. I'm going to buy new heavy duty tires. Luckily I was not on the interstate. I was about 25 miles from home. Hubby had to come and rescue me. I had a spare tire at home. I was going to throw it in the truck this morning because I always try to remember to bring a spare and I forgot it...

From now on I'm going to mount a spare on the trailer.

Oh Alieda I am SO SORRY you had a flat! That's one of my big fears when I'm far from home and driving alone! I'm so glad you got home ok. You just never know what is going to happen, but we can't stay home and hide all the time. Or can we? I'm qualifying as a hermit over the last 7 months, but not by choice. I don't recommend it.

Today was wonderful! I truly enjoyed the drive, the show, the good weather, seeing my friends, meeting some new ones, and bringing home two silkies so I can have yet another cage in the house until the weather warms up. More enthusiasm than good sense? Yep, guilty as charged.

Thank you Vickie for the adorable little pullet (I named her "Eclipse") and Eshanne for my beautiful Lavender cockerel (I'm working on the perfect name for him, any suggestions?)

Nice to have met you Pampered Pullet, so glad to see you have meds and things I can use. Hope you all did well at the show.

Congratulations to all the award winners and many thanks to everyone who bathed, groomed, and showed their gorgeous birds so people like me could see their beauty and say, "Ooooooh" and "Ahhhhhhhh" and bring home pictures to share with friends.

Hi Dawn,

Congrats on the 3 Lavenders from Darling Farms. I got one of their young cockerels (like I need a roo! HA!) Are yours males or females? Bearded or not? What are you going to breed them to? I got an unrelated black pullet to pair up with mine. They're both very young, 3-4 months, so it'll be a while before that happens.

Sorry I missed seeing you, I didn't get there until almost noon. Hope to see you at Bent Creek Feb 29.

By the way I have two Very nice, typey, SQ, black/split lavender cockerels from Darling Farms that I have to sell. Their dad is Lavender (Abraham) and mom is a fantastic pure black. If you know of anyone needing SQ splits, let me know. I really wanted to keep them because they are so good, but I can't.

It was a good show. The Kinder Minor got a chance to see a lot of different breeds and varieties and eventually decided on White Old English Games as her first birds. But only after I carried her around the show about six times narrowing the choices! She had a blast and is excited about getting her own birds now.

Managed to get away from the show without buying anything poultry related but some Oxine from Pampered Pullets. And some honey and tangelos but those aren't poultry related!

Loved the show, Hope everone placed well. Saw some great birds
I chickened out from showing my Lavender Ameraucana.
Just could not get it together.
We got their about 1PM , looked like we missed the venders, they were packed up and ready to go home!
I loved the Silver Spangled Hamburg Bantams,
Exhibitor # 82 Sharp from Chiefland or #148 Kinard from Arccadia she had BB Ameraucana.
Does anyone know them, are they a BYC member?
