Flower garden annuals that chickens like or don't like?

Does anyone know if chickens like morning glories? I'd love to have them climb up the west side of the run, but I don't want to bother planting anything if my girls are going to mow them down.

I live in northern CA where many people have problems with deer eating the landscape. I don't have this problem, but have benefited from the nurseries labeling their plants as "deer resistant". I have had great success with planting deer resistant flowers, the chickens leave them alone. Only exceptions were very young chickens < 6 months who needed to sample everything over and over again before deciding it tasted bad.

I also put rocks/bricks/wood/whatever I can find around the base of the plant to stop them from digging at the roots.

Morning glories are supposed to be toxic for chickens. I think if they free range the birds mostly leave them alone. If they were penned with them, maybe not.
