My incubator is having some problems, The tempature keeps fluctuating! It's only the third and now it ranges from about 101.7-98.3, but before it was way out of wack! It went from 94 to 105! Those were only tthe first two days though... also the humidity is horrible, at 40%, we put in sponges and filled the whole tray and even added some paper towels, but it just got up to 40%. What can I do, and will the chicks be okay? I'm soo worried..............

Edited to add: I pre heated the incubator three days before they got here, then I let them sit for 24 hrs and had to put them in soon, it just wouldn't get to the right temp/humidity. If I ever get eggs again I will be sure to heat it up like 1 week at least in advance, but this is my first time.

talk about nerve wrecking. I figured the middle temp is 99ish so I stuck with it. You can add a heat sink! a jar like a spagetti jar with water in it and a lid. The idea is to have something to hold the temps steadier. Is ur humidity too high? is ur gauge acurite? (sp) When u due to hatch?

It's to low, It's supposed to be around 50%. As for the gauge being accurate, I hope It is! Hold on, let me check... (The hygrometer shows the house humidity and the incubator humidity, and we also have a weather station thing in our house thats tells us the humidity also...)

It's accurate, and up to 43% (yes!) at least thats closer. And the temp is perfect right now. 100.3, but it'll probably change soon.

what brand bator do you have, how many eggs are in there, what kind of thermometer do you have
