Flushes for aiding in toxin removal

She's eating and drinking fine and it turns out her lameness in one leg is caused by a swelling in her middle joint/bone on her left foot. The vet took x-rays and saw no signs of infection in the joint/bone. She doesn't have the black scab that would indicate bumblefoot. I'm keeping her in her smaller pen, to but down on her exercise on that foot. She is walking around the pen fine, but with teeny tiny, almost indistinguishable limp. She was limping much worse yesterday.

Here's a picture of her foot. Sorry for the bad photo. I was trying to snap it before she moved. You can see a slight raised area in the middle of her left foot.

She's putting her on Nsaids to see if the inflammation goes down on its own. If it doesn't get better, I'm to go to plan B. She couldn't tell me what is causing the swelling. She said basically "I have no idea."

I think that you should contact a staff member before posting about vets in a negative way. Sorry you had a bad experience. What weren't you happy about?

The vet who quoted me the price on the X-rays quoted me one price and then when I went to pay, the price was substantially higher. I think that's absolutely wrong. Other offices have also given me estimates in writing. I suggested that to the office manager this morning, and she cut me off and said 'we don't do that.' I also suggested that she offer at the very least a price range, so that clients can make informed decisions that fit their budget. She was absolutely rude to me and very arrogant. The x-rays were much higher than similar x rays I've paid for at other vets in the bay Area, which tend to be more expensive, as the cost of living is higher here. Those same vets also send their x-rays to radiologists, which factors into the price. Oakley looks at the x-rays there, so theoretically, the price should not be more expensive than similar vets who have to send their results to a specialist.

It was a long haul to get to the office and stressful for my duck. I went because they were the 'experts' but I didn't find them to have any more expertise than any other vet I had been to.

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with them. the upside is that your duck doesn't have botulism, right?

Oh my gosh, yes!!!!! I am so very relieved to know she doesn't have botulism! It's a huge weight off my shoulders.
