Flying Indian Runners????

I thought Indian runners were unable to fly, but to my dismay I witnessed my pair fly yesterday! They only got a few feet off the ground, but now I'm worried they might fly away and get killed.
Has anyone witnessed an Indian runner in full flight? What should I do?

Wing assisted jumping is all I have seen. Four foot fence they have never gotten over. Two and a half, three foot, sometimes they can take a running leap.

That's about all they will be able to do.

Mine try to fly to the pond each morning. Ally has a broken wing, so she runs and flaps one wing. The other 3 try, one gets decent distance, but not far up.
Unless you have short fences, I'd not worry about it.

I meant to mention that when my runners were about four months old, about 90% grown, they could get more lift than once they filled out a bit.
