hello guys I got home from work and there in my drive way was one of my KC the other one was still in the pen . the only way out was to fly over the fence which is a good 4 ft. I thought this breed were non fliers . these guys are going through the terrible teens. they are in love with my truck the chrome bumper, they kiss it.i will have to take some pictures. I have 2 baby blue Swedish and 2 caygua oh I am not sure of the spelling. they are in another pen. my question is will they fly like these two will I have to go to a bigger fence. I pen then up at night. also the babies are hens will I have to get rid of one of the drakes. bye the way I love this forum it has answered so many questions already and I did not even have to ask them. thanks .

I don’t own ducks, (although I plan on probably getting some KC) I wanted a good laying breed, that was flighty and had moderate flying abilities for free ranging.

Anyway, KC are actually okay at flying, especially if they are still growing. They fly less once they come of age though. Maybe cover the pen until they are filled out and less likely to jump the fence, or you could wing-clip. Good luck to you :)

It seems there are quite a few breeds in domestic that can fly so it isn't as unusual as we think. Maybe cover the top of the pen to keep them inside. I have Muscovy's that fly so I learned early on to clip a wing to keep them grounded.

Is that 4 females to2 drakes? more than likely unless there is a lot of space to keep away from each other there will be fighting over the girls and 4 females may not be enough for 2hormonal drakes that is something you'll have to pay close attention to.
