The flying is perfectly natural. They could never get very far, so I didn't bother with wing-clipping, even when they grew older. I think we feed them too much. lol, just kidding. But yeah, it's very entertaining to watch, just put on a cover on the brooder if you're afraid of poop on the floor when they escape! (They made a right mess in the house. We were getting rid of the carpet at that time anyway, so didn't bother with the cover.)

when my chicks hit 4 weeks they go out side to the small coop it has a heat lamp and a small run

Mine are 3 weeks today and fly all over. They dont fly but maybe 2 feet or so. I see no reason to clip their wings this early. If you have them in a brooder just cover it. Also give them something to perch on. Mine are outside in a coop with a pen that has a 4 foot fence for now until we have the dogs completely acclumated to the chicks. We plan to let them free range when their older so I wont be clipping their wings.
