We have been waiting & waiting on our coop. The girls are in a temporary coop, which will be too small in a couple weeks. Found out today through some internet sleuthing that we are getting scammed and will likely never get our coop, or if we do, it won'e be as described/ depicted. Argh.

Desperately searching now for a decent coop for 7 chickens. Three will be very large (brahmas). We will have the coop inside a 200 sq ft run.

We spent ~$500 on the original coop that's never coming so that's around my budget.

Any recommendations?

Where in the hell did you look for chicken coop and got scammed? Can you share it so that perhaps you can save future victims? Anyway, with $500 budget...... i would definitely look into buying a nice fenced kennel run and then buy a large dog house and modify it a bit to fit my chickens' needs. You can get all this cheap on Craigslist if you took the time in the beginning, but now that you are desperate to find a coop, I'm not soo sure..... but give it a try anyway.

I just bought this one.119.00 on amazon. Pawhut 77” wooden backyard chicken coop kit with nesting box and run.

Took a quick look at that - it's really only big enough for three, maybe four LF chickens, assuming they aren't including the nest box in floor area. If so, probably closer to two. Certainly not big enough for seven, with brahmas in the mix. If my math is wrong on that, there should be people correcting me soon!

You should have read the reviews before buying that...

This is way too small. My hen will not even fit through the doorway. Wire and construction will not keep out any predator. Do not waste your money. Build one yourself from scrap.

Wood split every time we put a screw in. Replaced a bunch of boards. Roof screws do not fit had to modify the roof and add wood to inside just to get it to stay together.

This is total junk! Cheaply made! Sure it won't last a month! Amazon u can provide better products! So disappointed and pissed!

At a minimum each bird should have 4 sq ft of coop AND 10 sq ft of run. That coop doesn't even have room for 1 chicken:
- Overall Dimensions: 77.25"L x 29"W x 38.5"H
- Main House Dimensions: 30"L x 30"W x38.5"H (6.25 sq ft)
- Run Backyard Dimensions: 37.5"L x 25"W x 22.75" (6.5 sq ft)

Thank you for the correction! I'd just looked at the overall dimensions... I forgot they count the run in as part of that.
